our bespoke service

At Katy Britton many of our bridal and occasion wear customers opt for our bespoke service. This can include mother of the bride/groom, wedding guest, prom, bridesmaid or simply a dress for something fabulous.

A bespoke gown can be born from many places; your own ideas, tweaks to dresses you may have tried or a mixture of our own designs.

the process

It all starts with a consultation. We sit down and discuss your ideas, maybe try some dresses on and put a design together. We look at different fabrics and details, with Katy advising along the way.

Once we have arrived at a design we take measurements for a toile, which is a mock-up fitting of the final gown. It is during this fitting we can fine tune the fit and silhouette, and also tweak details such as neckline etc.

The toile fitting can also be useful if you are unsure of your design, and want to see how it may look before you make final decisions.

timescale

We try to be as accommodating as possible when it comes to lead times for your gown. Many brides are changing their weight, and there’s always a few who are worried they have left it too late. As we are creating from scratch, we are not tied to delivery times as other boutiques may be, and so can create a dress in as little as a month if needs be.

pricing and locations

We have 3 options for bespoke fitting locations. Katy’s studio in Nantwich, Cheshire, home visits, or our Manchester City centre stockist-Jean Jackson Couture.

A bespoke gown starts from £1000, but on average costs around £2500 depending on design and fabrics.

Fittings at Katy’s studio or within a 10 mile radius are included in your dress price.

Fittings further than this will carry a travel time charge of £50 per hour. You will not be charged for the fitting time, it is included in your dress price.
